Hermione only could roll her eyes when Ron brought up how much he hated Crookshanks. It was her cat and she loved it. Besides it was only a cat. Ron was just being very picky.

"It's only a cat, Ron." Hermione said. "Besides, Crookshanks is a good cat. I'm sure you'd know all about having a good pet."

Hermione let the last line slip out more sarcastically than the others. Ron had no hope with pets. In the past his owls have caused damages to themselves and to certain people around them. Maybe some permit damage to Ron's head. Being the bloke he is Ron only made his appearance worse.

"You really need to make yourself look a little less messy."Hermione said. "Here, let me fix your tie."

Hermione leaned over the table to fix Ron's tie.

Samantha looked over at the Slytherin table. They all think they're SO cool. She said in a whisper as she rolled her eyes. She looked at some other tables and back at everyone in Gryffindor. I don't feel right.she thought to herself. I am just a little nervous that's all. She said thinking since she has never been away from home a lot.

She looked up at the headmaster and looked away.I really hope I make alot of new friends. She said in a whisper. She looked up at the roof, it looked like there was no roof but there was. She looked around herself again and back at her table. I can't wait to start and get this over with. She was already nervous that she wasn't going to make friends and do well at Hogwarts.I'll be fine. She told herself.

Ron was about to make a retort about his pets--it wasn't his fault Scabbers was mussy and ended up being the guy that murdered Harry's parents, and Pigwidgeon was doing just fine thank you very much--when Hermione leaned over to fix his tie.

He blinked, trying as hard as he could to not look at Hermione, but gazing at everything but her. The ceiling--oh, nice weather today-- the other tables--Malfoy talking to that Blackwaters girl--the staff tables, and various other places.

Ron could feel his ears turning red, which was an understatement. They were, in fact, a ripe shade of tomato. He watched as Hermione leaned back to her seat, having fixed his tie. He swallowed.

"Umm...thanks Hermione."

Hermione: It was one kiss Ron...and Draco's changed. He's not the same as before.

Ron: Oh sure, you would stick up for him! You've been kissing Malfoy all over the place! You bad girl Hermione....you smoocher of evil.

"Believe me, Ron, you needed it to be fixed." She replied.

Hermione noticed a younger girl sitting near Harry. She seem very out of place and was glancing around at the other tables. Hermione glanced over at the Slytherin table. She saw Draco talking with Milane Blackwaters. Those to were indeed trouble. Draco sat there with the malicious glint in his eyes. He probably was calling Milane pet names as he did with all girls, that is except her. Thank goodness he had not done this. Hermione hated Malfoy witha passion. His beliefs were clearly feign.Hermione turned towards the yoof.

"I wouldn't worry about them." Hermione said nodding towards the Slytherin table. "They are normally just show-offs. They are not as fad as you think."

Slytherins had always believed they had been better than the other houses and there's no thanks to Salazar Slytherin to that. It would have been better to not have such a negative group at Hogwarts. Hermione often thought such bad things happened large part to the Slytherins. But she had to admit also because of Harry. The controversity he's brought since he had started first year had folllowed her and Ron as well. She feared her friends lives and even some of the future friends she wishes to have. No matter the case Hermione was going to do what she had this year to make sure everything was going to be sane.

Samantha heard a voice, she turned to Hermione."I heard they were showoffs from my mother and father."She said as she looked over at the Slytherin."I got to see it for myself right now."She said. She started to feel alittle better as she talked.

Samantha looked at the other Griffindors and back to Hermione."Howmany years have you been here?"She asked Maybe I will make some new friends after all!she thought to herself. She wondered what would happen her first year at Hogwarts.Maybe I will have an adventure. She thought,Samantha liked adventures. She waited for Hermione to reply.

Ron blinked. He rested his head in his left hand, his right fingers drumming impatiently on the table. His stomach clenched in hunger as he sat there, listening to Hermione comfort the first year. Ron closed his eyes, red hair falling over them.

Typical Hermione...drag someone else into the conversation...

Ron covered his mouth as he let out a bored yawn. His voice had a hint of irritation in it as he spoke to the first year.

"This is our sixth year. Don't mind her," He looked at Hermione and back to the first year, "She just wants to avoid the subject of that bloody cat of hers."

Samantha looked at Ron."Ok."She said laughing alittle to herself. She could tell he hated that cat alot. She wondered about making friends with some other first years.I wonder who are some other first years here.she thought.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't an only child.she thought to herself. If she had a brother or sister she would have someone to that she knew to talk to.When she was at home she was never unconfortable because she knew everyone at home.I wonder if Hermione or Ron have any brothers or sisters?.She thought. If they were first or second years she might be able to make a new friend.

Harry was getting tired of Ron and Hermione always fighting about that stupid cat. He listened to them argue, and he was pretty sure that they were scaring the poor first year. So he tried to lead the subjects away from the cat talk.

"Dont worry" Harry said to the first year
"These two arent as weird as you think they are" He now said whispering, which was quite dumb since he knew that they can hear him regardless.

"Hogwarts is quite fine if you know your boundaries and keep you distance away from the Slytherins." He said nodding. "I've had my share in experience with them these past years i've been here." He looked at Ron and Hermione. "Actually, we all had..."
Harry now had a certain look upon his face as he began to remember the arguements and fights hes been in with Malfoy, how they made fun of Rons Red hair, and calling Hermione a mudblood. He blinked all the flashbacks away and looked at Ron and Hermione knowing that they knew what he was thinking about.

She looked back at the Harry,Hermione, and Ron.She looked at Ron and Hermione."Why do you both fight about that cat?"she asked. She wanted to know why so she wouldn't ask later.I wonder when we leave to go to the common
rooms?

Alright, I want some actual RPing to begin, so im letting the feast end early... Lets all pretend that you all ate. lol. ;)

A hush of silence fell upon the students in the Great Hall as Professor Dumbledore got to his feet. He walked carefully to the pedistal, you can see that Professor Dumbledore was a very old wizard indeed.

He cleared his throat and began to speak to the students.
" A few words before I let you students go to your common rooms." Professor Dumbledore looked around the room with a warm smile upon his face his eye glinted from the candle in front of him.
"Everyone should know, that the Dark Forest is of course forbidden to all students" His gaze set upon the Slytherin table.
"Due to some past ocurrences over the past couple years, there is a new rule that all students must be in their common rooms by the curfew time which is 10:00pm" Dumbledore still kept a warm smile upon his face, although he had heard a couple of students moan at the news.
"Although the curfew is at 10:00 you may stay up, but absolutly no leaving your common rooms until the next morning at 5:00am." Dumbledore nodded his head.
"Now that you all have eaten a good dinner, I will now excuse all of you to your common rooms."
Albus set a small smile upon his face and motioned everyone to rise.
"You may now leave" With that, Professor Dumbledore turned around and sat back down onto his seat to watch all of the students arrange themselves.

______NEXT DAY_______

Ron trumped into the common room, his ears bright red. He snatched himself a plate and sat down with a fury. As he began to eat, questions and thoughts came buzzing around his head.

What was wrong with that girl? Does she always have to be a know-it-all? Why can't she let up for a moment? How could she be so careless this morning? Didn't she remember the fight?

Ron sighed and set down his egg filled fork. He rested his cheek in his hand and stared at his glass of Pumpkin juice.

Hermione walked into the Great Hall with her large canvas bag straped to her shoulder. Carrying a load of books was always what Hermione did. Besides that, a large roll of parchment was contained in the pouch.
She glanced up to see Ron sitting there playing with his pumpkin juice. It was typical of him, he was always off in his own little world, but this morning he seemed to be thinking or so it looked like he was. She pushed the strap of her bag up on her shoulder and scowled in fustration. She knew he was thinking about there little prattle the night before. Ron seemed to think too much lately. He was always know to just do it, rarely without a thought or care in the world. Now, Hermione could barely tell what was going on in his mind. As if he cloaked his own thoughts from everyone.
Bursting through her mindless thoughts, Hermione walked over briskly and set her bag on the table across from Ron. She pulled her skirt back and sat down re-adjusting it before pulling her thick curls away from her eyes. She looked up gave a little lopsided grin and grabbed for a piece of toast and jam.
"Hullo, Ron." Hermione said as politely she could. She wasn't tempted to have another fight with Ron today. Especially so early in the morning.

Ron didn't even look up. He continued to run his finger along the flask of pumpkin juice and stare at the orange liquid.

" 'Lo Hermione."

A bunch of his red hair fell into his eyes, but he did nothing to brush it away. He was tired, after not sleeping too well last night, he just wanted to be left along. But, as far as friends go, he rathered Harry have been there than Hermione. Harry seemed to understand, Hermione just seemed to undermine.

Ron poured some juice into his glass and took a large gulp, spilling some of it on the table.
